  • Origin Story

    The Madonna/Whore Complex was coined by Sigmund Freud when he noticed his male clients often couldn’t see women as they were, but rather, their minds polarized women into being either a pure, perfect, beautiful, angelic woman, of whom he was too ashamed to project his sexual desires upon, or he saw a wild, sexually open woman that he was allowed to demean with his sexuality but had no capacity to show respect, love or care to her because she represented the desires in himself he was ashamed of.

    Transformation

    This Madonna/Whore Complex has transformed itself into the Madonna/Whore Archetype by many leading edge female activists, for women to explore parts of themselves they feel ashamed of or drawn to. Most generally, it is said, women tend to fall into comfort with one archetype over the other. Those who feel best being good, pure, and gentle are afraid of being sexual, rageful and direct. Those who identify with being strong, sexual, and outspoken are often afraid of their vulnerability, innocence, and the parts of them that could be taken advantage of.

    Ali is a Counselor and Artist and s the head facilitator at bioemotiveframework.com.

    Ali brings 20+ years experience in Tibetan Buddhism and 15+ years of depth somatic teachings. She has spent her whole life struggling to be in a female body, gleening wisdom from Tibetan Tantric Systems, Occult Western Mysteries, and Polarity Practices to help her find her way, and seeks to create a space where all parts of the human experience can be welcomed, loved, and worked with.

    Eight Weeks, Six Women

  • Week 1:

    • Collectively gather
    • Share who we are; our loves, fears, life-lessons in sexuality with special prompts
    • Explore how we relate (or don't) with the Madonna Whore Archetypes in our culture
    • Follow the aliveness that emerges between our unique configuration of women in an emergent and lightly facilitated space.

    Week 2:

    • Learn simple practices in relational attunement and somatic awareness in collective dialogue
    • Learn about "Parts" ie: Protectors, Exiles, and Savior of ourselves
    • Lovingly get curious about how Protectors, Exiles, and Saviors are showing up, already, in the room

    Week 3-8:

    • Collectively bring our attention to one woman per session
    • Help the woman follow her alivness and desire in what we explore
    • Collectively, with facilitation, explore Protectors, Exiles, and Saviors within each woman, with the Madonna Whore Archetypes as our stepping stone.
